Content creators and consumers alike will be pleased about TweetMeme’s new mobile support for retweets. Since a large portion of Twitter users use mobile apps, TweetMeme reports that mobile support has traditionally been one of the most requested features from publishers.
The new release should roll out by early next week with native retweet support for iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android devices.
When serving up a retweet button on a mobile device, TweetMeme will use the appropriate mobile-specific version for the platform. After clicking the button, the user will be sent to a screen allowing them to choose which Twitter mobile app they prefer to use, along with suggestions for folks who don’t yet have an app of choice. Your selection will be remembered for future retweets from your mobile browser.
Do you often retweet stories from your phone? And for publishers out there, do you expect to see a rise in your retweets thanks to better mobile support?
