Jalbum v. 8.0 Has Photo-Editing Too

Jalbum has been making a lot of changes lately, in a large effort to better compete with the likes of Photobucket and Flickr. With a new version release, v. 8.0, Jalbum is doing what most photo-sharing sites have begun to do in recent months–incorporate photo-editing tools.
The inclusion of photo-editing tools is a major aspect of version 8.0, and its major objective for Jalbum’s larger picture is the fact that it brings the web-based photo service full circle. From photo-editing to organizing, tagging, distributing and converting into various products like books, there’s not many sides of the industry that Jalbum doesn’t cover. Looking back at Jalbum’s most recent updates, and you’ll easily see this trend. Other upgrades with the version 8.0 release are improved organization options for your photos.

Now that most photo sites are taking the all-inclusive approach to saving, editing and sharing media, is this a case of one site doing too many things? In my personal experience, the photo-editing necessary for optimally sharing photos on the web is basic enough for me to appreciate the one-stop-shop approach in this regard.
It’s the production end of things that I’m most curious to see develop, namely in the partnerships that occur between photo-sharing sites and the companies creating products. This sometimes leads to acquisitions, but as we’re seeing with OpenBox, this is a very fluid trend that gives end users control over their items and choices for action with those items.
